The Outsiders was banned from published school after it was finish because it has many violence scenes in the story. There were gangs in the story. There guns killing people, gangs fighting. They used bad languages that were not allowed in schools. Many things they did were not appropriate like at the beginning when Ponyboy was hit by the Socs. Another time when they were at the theatre and Dally was using bad languages against Cherry.
